is one of the most popular templs of tripura according to hindu mythology the Tripura Sundari temple in among the 51 shaktipeeths of Maa Kali,the mother kali in this temple.The temple i worshinpped ,the patternof the Shrine resembles the shape of a turtle or kurma and hence it is also called the kumar stomach.
                                                                                It is believed that the right leg of the power dropped here in accordance with the hindu mythology,saddened by the death of the truth Lord Shiva lifted his deceased body on his shoulders so furiously  the dance of the Lord Vishnu was made to stop Lord Shiva from being frightened Chopped the body of Sati into pieces

The place where his right leg is cut down is also worshiped as a peat spot.
